Great taste for northern food A bit pricey for some items (Phuket Price I assume)

Super cute find! The front of property to left is a beautiful Thai only lunch place/separate building serving authentic Northern Thai food….and next to it is this stylish coffee place in its own building. Had a great cappuccino and yummy lemon tart. I think I’m their first review so please come! Nice airco and sweet caring owners. And then there is the adorable dog!!!

Love this place! Northern food is outstanding, tasty for good price. Service is exceptional and place is very nice, clean and local. Highly recommend for people looking for great northern food in Phuket.

I live just 5–10 minutes away in a nearby village and often come here for lunch. Muan Jai is tucked away in a quiet local area, far from the tourist spots, and the setting is beautiful—an old wooden house surrounded by trees, with lanterns and a really peaceful vibe. It honestly feels like a little piece of Chiang Mai right here in Phuket. The food is Northern Thai and always delicious. On weekends, they serve Khao Soi (try the beef version!), and their Kaeng Hang Le is one of the best I’ve had—rich, flavorful, and cooked with tender pork belly. The Laab Moo is spicy and packed with herbs, exactly how I like it. Desserts change depending on the season, so you never know what you’ll get, but they’re always good. Last time I had mango sticky rice, and another time I got their tapioca and red bean dessert in coconut milk—sweet and savory, comforting, and so Thai. The place gets packed, so it’s best to come early. Prices are very reasonable (around 200–300 THB per person), and there’s parking on site. Definitely worth the visit if you want to eat like a local and enjoy Northern Thai flavors in a relaxing setting.

It's a very nice, quiet and authentic place,it's a restaurant with Northern Thai food and coffee shop with good choice of drinks and deserts. Staff is very polite and welcoming. Food was amazing,I ordered Khao Soi with chicken, and it's very good, recommend to try! Good food, reasonable prices and nice atmosphere,if you around this area - definitely worth visiting.

This restaurant was such a hidden gem! The atmosphere felt like you were dining in the middle of the woods—peaceful, cozy, and surrounded by nature. I also tried their khao soi, and it was absolutely delicious—rich, creamy, and full of flavor. A must-try if you’re a fan of northern Thai cuisine!

This restaurant truly deserves to be in the Michelin Guide Muan Jai means “full of happiness” The Northern Thai dishes are prepared with authentic flavors and traditional techniques — every bite is full of heart. Don’t miss the mango sticky rice — it’s an absolute must-try! A real hidden gem in the Thalang area that’s worth discovering.

One of my favorite restaurants! I can go back again and again. The food is delicious and very affordable. The service is great, and the owner is so friendly and sweet. The atmosphere is amazing (although it would be even better if there was an air-conditioned area). My favorite dishes are the nam prik ong and the signature Apple Peach, Virgin Lychee Mojito!
